So I was in the restroom a little while ago and it was nearly full. I heard one guy who was washing his hands berate another guy who was walking out about not washing his hands saying it spreads germs on the door handle. Of course it's true, but I thought it was incredibly rude!

Do you agree with this or just find it rude and out of place?

i agree with Pitt...

not washing your hands is NASTY!

If someone calls you (not you OP, but "you" in the general sense) b/c of something completely inappropriate and nasty that you're doing, then good for them. It's not rude: it's the truth...

The problem with our society and culture is that people don't want to be corrected for any of the stupidity they engage in or the nasty nonsense that they do. Kudos to that guy for calling out inappropriate behavior.

I had someone say something like that to me for walking out of the restroom without washing up at a busy (and pretty dirty) truck-stop once.

I quickly silenced the guy when I loudly announced that my (insert male member slang term here) was cleaner than anything in that store, including the handle of the faucet he was using to "clean" his hands.

FYI- I keep a large bottle of hand sanitizer in my vehicle for that reason.

I know guys love their junk, but your "member" has been in a dark, warm, sweaty, bacteria-laden environment while you've been driving, and now you've added drops of urine into the mix. It's not clean.

Totally disgusting! If someone sneezed or coughed on you without covering their mouth, would you say something? If they wiped their runny nose then offered their hand, would you shake it? If they scratched their bare armpit or their toes then handed you something, would you clean it off before use? This is the same thing. That guy is being unsanitary and spreading germs by skipping 30 seconds at the sink. Maybe him being embarrassed will make him rethink his actions and start washing up.

If you think a bathroom is too gross to use, please carry sanitizer in your pocket or purse so others can see you use it. For peace of mind and a show of respect to others .

Yes it was extremely rude for the guy not to wash his hands. Every other guy in that restroom has to use the doorknob and now also gets to touch the non-hand washers "junk" by way of opening the door. So, its perfectly acceptable to call him out. I wish I had the guts to do that.

In spite of popular opinion, shaming and peer pressure are not always a bad thing. I wish that more people were comfortable calling out bad behavior, maybe there would be fewer self centered jerks and less rudeness in our society.
