So I have become what I call more cynical over the years.

Once we get hurt over and over it is easy to try and protect ourselves from experiencing further pain. I am working through that now and am learning to trust and be open with others again. I just am careful not to trust everyone like I once did in my younger, more naive days.

Forgiveness is important too. I realize I did my own share of hurting others. I have accepted responsibility, made amends where possible and I do try harder to do unto others. I too live in the present more than ever, however, I realize I can do that without shutting others out.
Love your post. Thanks for sharing.

Yep. But remember, if you have one more thing than you need, say 3 coffee cups instead of 2, then you're a hoarder.

I've become more sentimental as I get older. I do have probably a paper sized box with material things that are sentimental to me. I cherish the memories I have in my heart. I love remembering funny younger days and making good memories for the younger people in my family. We've always been a close family and their love is what's most important to me. I hope that when I die, they speak of me with love, respect and a whole lot of funny stories!

Nah.... one extra cup does not make you a hoarder.
But that has nothing to do with this thread... unless you are sentimental about your three coffee cups.

You're right. I did. I was responding to the OP about pictures and scrapbooking. I was never much of a sentimental person though. The things I saved, I saved because they involved others who might one day be glad to have them.
