Have a friend, using the term loosely now, who constantly played pity party the whole time I was in college with her. I legitimately felt bad for her and wanted to help her. She was so busy, struggling between school and work and I was under the impression she was "fighting the good fight" financially.
fast forward to after her graduation. Straight A student, but she wasn't exactly the sharpest bulb in the deck. Found out the struggle of her studying constantly really was a thing because she really needed that extra time to get material. Fine. But the thing that upset me was when she invited me to her graduation party. I'm thinking it's going to be perhaps a 2 bedroom, 3 bath suburban home. Nope. She lives in something just short of a mansion, fourth generation college graduate in her major, with a massive range of family directly and indirectly supporting every single step. She had a silver spoon in her mouth from birth and hurt for nothing, but still played out her life on a sad violin.
There are other more personal details of how she made me feel very betrayed, but long story short I didn't trust her after that. She felt way too manipulative.
from wikipedia..
"Wolf in sheep's clothing is an idiom of Biblical origin. It is used of those playing a role contrary to their real character, with whom contact is dangerous."
I would actively avoid anyone like that.
So, no... I would NOT have friends or acquaintances that were wolves in sheep's clothing.
Do you? Why would you?
ok anyone know any wolf in Sheeps clothing in their own personal life?
