I can look out my window and see a plethora of neighbors and few are practicing social distancing when they encounter one another passing by on a walk. In fact, they talk very close to one another physically, as if there is no virus pandemic. Do people inherently trust people they know socially and assume they are negative for the virus? Is this a form of implicit bias?

Don’t be a Karen and mind your own business. Not everyone is as scared of the bat flu as you and might want to say to hi to actual humans at a regular distance apart.

Or you could call the cops on them and make yourself look silly? MYOB.

The behavior is right in front of me when I look out the window. Am I supposed to turn my head? I can't help not see it. If you didn't like what I wrote, why did you bother to respond in a passive aggressive manner?

Yes, turn your head. I’m not being passive aggressive at all. I’m giving you my honest advice that worrying about/ reporting your neighbors outside behavior with each other is really none of your business. If you are worried about bat flu, then social distance yourself (possibly even take more precautions). I was also helpfully warning you that 99% of cops will be annoyed to respond to a “my neighbors are closer than 6 feet apart” call. Don’t expect the swat team and private investigators to show up. Whatcha going to do? Best thing is to ignore and go on with your own life.

Good luck.

Where in my OP did I state or insinuate calling the cops for people not socially distancing?

Hopefully someone with a background in psychology will weigh in on whether people have an implicit positive bias toward people they know when deciding whether or not to social distance.

OP,
You made a foolish post and were called on it. Then you argued and lost. MYOB with your neighbors and quit the virtue signalling here. Have a nice day.

The only thing worse than COVID-19 is the epidemic of public scolds. Mind your own business.

Exactly. Everyone has become the self-appointed coronavirus police.

OP, you can't control anyone but yourself. There's nothing to be gained by concerning yourself with the actions of others.
