Do you think it's tacky to order a gift off of Amazon and have it shipped directly to the person even though it's going to be unwrapped? Or should you order from Amazon and send it to yourself so you can wrap them and then send them all together? You have plenty of time to do either one and get the gifts there by Christmas.

I do that all the time- usually you can include a gift message on the reciept, sometimes you can have them gift wrap it.

We are all pretty much on opposite coasts from each other so... it's understood that its more practical this way...

Amazon is great. I send my kids stuff all the time, unwrapped. Heck, it's in a box, it IS wrapped!

My sister sends things wrapped from Amazon. I send things unwrapped. We're both happy to get something unexpected in the mail. It's even better when no one steals it off the porch.

When Amazon wraps something, it comes in a fabric bag with a drawstring and a gift tag. Last year the bags were a really cheap material but this year they're slightly shimmery and my kids were as excited about the gift bags as they were about the gifts inside.

No, not tacky at all. Very common and perfectly acceptable.

Agreed with everyone else. It's nothing tacky about it at all.

And it can be a real surprise when they get a package, and someone is giving them a gift. And like said, it's in a box, so it's wrapped. Not like leaving something on someone porch in a plastic sack.

If you tell Amazon it's a gift they do wrap it, I say go for it and just directly send it to them...you will save time plus the cost of shipping it to the recipient.

Nope, not at all. Like someone said, it's in a box, so technically it is wrapped already. My bf and I, I guess we both think that wrapping paper is a waste of money. Last year, he gave me bras in a box that was laying around and drew all kinds of stuff on the outside. Some of the stuff that he drew was so funny that I liked the box more than I liked what was in it. I don't know what goes on in his head sometimes. I have toyed with the idea of just blindfolding him and making him guess what is in his hand. That is how much I hate wrapping gifts. LOL. Seriously, I usually just go for the bags with the tissue paper. Easy-peasy.

And some stuff you really can't wrap...I bought my husband something that weighs like 45 lbs, I can't wrap that, I could barely carry it in the house LOL I'm a weakling.
