I really don't want someone to give me fragrance. I use it sparingly and I like what I like.

If you are really stuck, then I'd suggest cash. Cash always fits, and it always is appreciated, in my experience. If you do not want to give cash, then give a coffee gift card, or a restaurant gift card. Another thing that I would appreciate is an expensive candle, no more than lightly scented. Or something hand made.

I think it's about the worst thing to give someone unless you already know they like it. First, it's very subjective, and second, the same scent can smell like spring flowers on one person, and cat pee on another. So even if she likes what you're wearing, she may not be able to wear it.

"I bought you something because I think you stink."

"Please use this."

Not always, I mean you can tailor the card to the receiver a lot of the time. A gift card to my favorite restaurant or bookstore is always thoughtful. My son loves getting cards for starbucks or some of the gaming cards. OTOH a random card, just because it was the first thing they grabbed off a display, yeah, those are not met with much enthusiasm here.

Same here, and I won't cash a check, either (unless it's big enough for a down payment on a big house. )

This would work for me. I like art cards, for the rare occasions I send someone a hand-written note. Yes, I still use the good old-fashioned USPS for correspondence! A beautiful art card of some sort is a nice small gift for someone. It brightens their day, and if they really like it, they can frame it and hang it on the wall.

This is something I would never use. I only take showers andd I cannot stand vanilla.

I also don't use fragrances anymore, because it seems like everywhere I go, there are signs that say not to wear any.

But, I would never turn down some nice, fragrance-free products, like fancy hand lotions.
