If you think that your home address is a secret.....You are really ill informed.
It's public knowledge. Don't think so ?
Driver's licence and vehicle registration contain your home address. Town or city tax rolls. Utility bills. Telephone listings, shall I go on ?
Any person with an interest can find that information easily.

I think it's the untrue statements that are posted along with the personal information that is the problem.
Especially with how so many become internet vigilantes with the slightest provocation.

I agree that this is the bigger problem. Once a reputation is damaged it's difficult to rebuild.
This falls under slander law, but it really depends on what laws are in place. Some countries have very strict law about slander, for example Australia, where it is necessary to respect the autonomy of others. In the USA, freedom of speech usually trumps respecting the autonomy of others.
Did the click the 'report post' button? Report it enough times and they'll take it down. FB is terrible for getting back to someone but if you annoy them enough they will just delete a post.
OK so I just got off the phone with an attorney and he said that posting an opinion is not slander and posting my address is not against the law. He was just the first one I spoke to and the one closest to my home so I’m going to try again.
You're wasting your time. No attorney is going to be interested in this.
And if they are, they're only interested in taking your money.
Seems the issue in the op has been settled..Thank you for all the advice
