A relationship like this is fluid. Best pals with a connection like that is more than friendship even if you don’t acknowledge it. Your view, hopes and dreams for the relationship can be different than hers. Even if it is the same, she could still feel jealous even if she has no interest sexually or you could have ego big enough to think she is jealous when she isn’t. Her face could of been the reaction to weirdness of trainer. Also keep in mind many great friendships after long, long periods become romantic. If you want to remain close you two need open communication not ge I wonder if.....
A kiss on the cheek is about the most affectionate flirting behavior a woman can do. It's her asking for way more of your attention. Your BFF doesn't want to lose your platonic friendship, at the very least. If you get a GF your friendship with her could come to an end. And vice-versa.
Just out of curiosity, what physical affections do you and your BFF do, if any?
Thanks everyone for the replies. I did not intentionally in making her jealous but 2 other female friends I know who I'm not really close with said she sounds jealous.
I mentioned it to her because my friend and I talk about EVERYTHING, we went into full detail about our lives. Telling her this about the trainer is not that big of a deal because you have no idea how personal we got. That's why I mentioned we have a brother and sister relationship. My female friend is not a regular friend, we got so close and personal that we become even closer. We know things about each other marriages that we didn't tell our regular friends. So I was not trying to get her jealous. So telling her about the trainer was not that big of a deal.
What's the difference between a "regular" friend and an "irregular" friend? How many categories of friends do you need?
Never mind. I don't really want to know. The whole situation sounds juvenile. You claimed it wasn't even important (if that was really true what compelled you to ask strangers about it?). Don't lose any sleep over it. I doubt these "friends", of all varieties, will.

I don't your opinion if you are going to be insulting.
You stated she views you as a BFF which means she feels comfortable being catty towards other women in her exchanges with you. It has nothing to do with jealousy and everything to do with her comfort level.
You said it is not normal. I pointed out that what is normal depends on where you live.
