I called them Mom and Dad, and being a military brat also yes sir, no sir, yes mam and no mam. Loved them dearly and miss them sorely now that they are both gone.
I was always "Mommy", then "Mom". Then, in her 'tweens, oldest DD got all sophisticated and started calling me "Mother". and her younger sister copied. I didn't like being called "Mother" then, and still don't. I'm more "Mom" than "Mother". Makes me feel like an old lady in a rocking chair, like "Whistler's Mother".
My grandsons call me, "Nanny" or "Nan". Then oldest grandson decided to start calling me "Grandmommy" out of the blue, I don't know why. I told him I am "Nanny", NOT "Grandmommy". He stopped it, but makes his favorite stuffed animal bellow "GrandMOMMMMMEEEE!" at me. At least it's not "GRANDMOTHER".
Edit: When oldest grandson was learning to talk, he pronounced his "N's" as "D's". So he called me "Daddy! Daddy!" instead of "Nanny". My mother, his great grandmother, was "Dada" instead of "Nana". If you weren't familiar with who was who, it was very confusing.

The sperm donor is dead and the egg donor forfeited her right to communicate with me.
