I'm not hugely motivated to maintain a friendship with someone in another state. In my 20's, I frequently drove to my friend's house in another state. She had young children and I didn't. However, I lost touch with her. My life got busy due to many years of caregiving and demanding jobs. After many years of being out of touch, I just don't care to restart the relationship. She never exactly went out of her way for me all of those years, the relationship was always on her terms. Another friend of mine moved to Florida and keeps inviting me down there. I don't want to go to Florida. If someone else likes Florida, that's fine for them. When Covid is over and if I have the time and resources to travel, believe me, it's not going be Florida.
