My daughter just took the 2nd ISEE test and had an average of 8. It's enough to apply for most of the private schools in NC right?

An average of 8 across the various sections is quite strong. She should apply with confidence.

IIRC an 8 per section = about 92th percentile +/- 3...........she's around the 90th percentile of test takers.

So she's at the ~90th percentile of an overachieving/self-selected group.

Good for her.

is a 9 and 8 in English and a 7 and 6 in math considered good score?

I'd say yes. However, if the goal is top notch private school the 6 (assuming that's in mathematics achievement) may be a little soft.

Her score is 6(reading), 8(verbal), 9(math), 9(the other). What do you think?

Sorry for that. I conflated something you wrote with something the other poster wrote.

IMO your kiddo's scores are excellent and she has a great shot at winning a private school slot. Just the way I think.....I prefer high math and quant. over the reverse.
