Hi just a quick question hopefully someone an help, i live in the uk and my company has been bought over by a worldwide company and they have a site in Princeville NC and i maybe on for a move my question is though what is the area like? and where is a good place nearby to live?
Princeville is a small town located along the Tar River in eastern NC. It is generally a pretty impoverished little town and they suffered a lot of loss due to flooding after a hurricane in the late-90s. It is adjacent to a slightly larger town, Tarboro, which is a bit more prosperous, but still generally a small eastern-NC town. I personally wouldn't want to live in Princeville/Tarboro. Some larger towns that are within 20-25 miles of Princeville are Rocky Mount, Wilson & Greenville. Greenville is the largest and is the regional hub for shopping, medicine, etc... as well as home to a large public university. All three of these towns have their issues with crime and such, but nice and safe areas can certainly be found, too. The topography of eastern NC is frankly pretty flat and boring IMO, and it gets pretty hot and humid in the summer. The best parts of eastern NC are along the coast and the waterfront towns on the sounds, about 1-3 hours from Princeville.
The nearest "big" city is Raleigh, about an hour from Princeville. This is where you'd find a major airport, better shopping and entertainment, etc...

I agree with everything in the previous post. The best part of Princeville is that it is 2 hours from the ocean on the highway leading to Nags Head. I'd suggest living in Greenville or Wilson.
what company is in Princeville besides dollar general and southern states? Or did I miss something?
