Of course.

It (is) easier for (nearly all) high schoolers to get their hands on pot than alcohol (now).
aka zero sum game

The real issue remains (as always) in making a distinction between use and abuse...
and what if any repercussions they might face in the event of.

btw... that applies to alcohol or weed and both now and in some speculative future.

People are confused on the legalities, ie. driving, growing, selling, etc. I guess they are pretty stupid there and don't believe in doing their homework.

Peopel who are driving while high are already have a system in place. They are charged with DUI's. If the law remains that says you can't smoke while I high if it can be proven through body signals, smells, and/or what not. I don't think there is an objective filed test for weed, like how we have BAC for alcohol.

What about the movie, "Reefer Madness?" Once you have seen, your eyes are wide open....and pupils dilated.

However, marijuana is easier to produce than alcohol
A jug of grape juice, some yeast, sugar, and a loose fitting cap to let the CO2 seep out, and you can make wine cheaply and within about 2 weeks. It takes a few months to cultivate marijuana, and it needs space and light.

But alcohol is so easily obtained and so cheap, few people bother to make it themselves. That's probably what'll happen in a regulated marijuana market. Most smokers will just buy it at the corner store.

It takes a few months to cultivate marijuana (right between the rows of tomato's)

Or at the farmers market.
I'm seeing wicker baskets on the table right between the heirloom tomato's and the asparagus.

Do you think growers need more regulation than a County Extension Agent drive by?

That's not wine! That's homemade fruit juice! Typically grape, apple, and strawberry, depending on the season!

Default great

For the "is for medical reasons" folks.

I am sure that is what everyone will be saying throughout high schools while they are all high because it is legal.....

I would not put it past NC to legalize this.
America doesnt know self control, just look at the current waistlines....

If the state even consider it that will be decades away. With current make up of the General Assembly they will not introduce a bill to be voted on by either the assembly or for the voters.

So it's the government's job to impose self-control onto the helpless masses? Perhaps someone should tell them about all the people with handguns.
