Also asking legislators to come back and over ride his vetoes will wash hands on that too.

Do you really think it's a plus for McCrory that he didn't bother to understand what was in the voter ID bill he signed? That alone is a big reason to kick him to the curb in the next election.

And asking the legislators to come back isn't some political maneuver to make him look good. He's required to do that by statute--otherwise the vetoes will automatically be revoked.

The campaign contributions is what will be a unfortunate plus.
I hope his vetos stay as it makes sense.

Urban you brought up excellent point of Mr Foxx being a native, IMO governors should be natives.
Natives have a different deep hearted passion and vision for this state. It would be a fun interesting contest.
I hope this pans out then my vote will be as Pat as one term

God, if Mayor Foxx became governor. I'd be the happiest person alive. I love, love, love, love Foxx.

Foxx always, stubbornly, stands up for his convictions and in the end, he's always right. He's such a great, youthful, handsome, energetic, positive and caring individual.

Asheville, Triad, Triangle, Wilmington, and of course Charlotte would love Foxx. Foxx could really jump start all of our cities and have a renewed vision of public transportation. His view on Transportation is that is spurs not only growth but smart growth and grows the quality of life in turn attracting new employers.

Foxx's personality and leadership has always helped our city gain events, federal dollars, etc. as he was/is so dedicated to making Charlotte the shining city on the hill. A city that despite its size can play with the big boys and a city where people pull themselves up from the bootstraps.

Nothing to me would be better than Foxx as governor

Edit: If my cheer leading for Mayor Foxx, I think Pat is going to be 1 term. But that's not a slam dunk.

Just about the only way to give McCrory a chance at re-election is for the Democrats to nominate Foxx. Harvey Gantt all over again, this time part of the hated (in many parts of NC) Obama machine. Young Democrats never seem to learn anything. Try to enjoy your four years with McCrory, because with this strategy you just may have eight.

^ if people vote (or don't vote) for someone because he's young and black, there's probably no changing them. That's the way those type of people are.

My reasonings for supporting Foxx is his vision. 4 years ago I was a republican. In High School I helped start a Young Republicans branch. I'm not black nor am I a freeloader (I work harder than average), but I am intrigued in his ideas of investing in infrastructure and education. I'm intrigued in his ability in regards to economic development.

This whole guns, gays, bibles, drill-baby-drills, abortions, casinos.... I have one thing to say; it's the economy stupid! (someone needs to post McCrorys picture with "it's the economy, stupid")

Besides, call me an Elitist liberal young socialist freeloader black, whatever, but all the aforementioned bibles and guns... The discussions are usually too Backwards, Neanderthal, and uneducated for me to even care about. I wouldn't be so harsh if those same people weren't so "in your face" dressed up like the 1700's talking about marrying goats. I'm more interested in upgrading highways so we can increase exports, improve quality of life, etc. I'm more interested in economic development and progress.

What is McCrorys vision? I don't know. I thought I did (benefit of doubt), that's why I voted for him.

He has a reputation for not caring about the average voter. When he was asked about what he thought of people leaving charlotte to avoid the high taxes his reply was" Well there will be plenty of people moving in to take their place" This shows he has no allegiance to us long time tax paying locals.Another example from personal information I have is how he treats the servers when he goes out to eat. He often would go to the LaPaz mexican restaurant on the south end where he knew the owner. He would eat well and be served well... To show his thanks he would leave "0" for a tip for the servers. People here know him and this is the reason he couldnt even get the majority in Meck county to vote for him..I just hope he leaves office before he plunders our state funds .

OK, the thread is about McCrory but I never thought Foxx was a good mayor. He was no Brookshire or Belk, somebody that could get people to work together and compromise, water down the passionate splits in the council. Foxx was very pig headed and I thought the city was fortunate that he was lured away by the president.

Isn't it a little early for this? What next? Are we going to talk about who is going to run for the democratic nomination of the presidency?

Let's discuss the policies and decisions. Great. But deciding if he'll win or not after serving less than 20% of his term is quite silly.

I think it is too early to decide whether Governor McCrory should be reelected. The State of North Carolina has spent 20 years under Democratic leadership of Governors Hunt, Easley and Perdue. With the national and state Democratic parties having issues, the state Republican party has an opportunity to make or break good for North Carolinians.
