Hi just hoping someone has some information on a place in NC that is not too far from the beach, has a good Hospital, good schools and not a lot of crime. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

I could help, but curious why good schools have to be a factor when one is retired. Does the OP still have kids attending school?

The second question is : how far is "not too far"?

The reason for this question is that parts of the Triangle are 2 and half hours drive from the beach. Many people make day trips from the Triangle. The Triangle has many excellent schools and also excellent hospitals. If the OP still has kids in school, I'd suggest looking into the Triangle.

If there are no kids in school, I'd suggest the popular retirement areas in Brunswick County, New Hanover County and Pender County.

Regarding the crime issue: Since most cities in the coastal region have some crime and some have above average rates, what size city or town would the OP prefer?

OP - you have to give up a little more..... budget, house, apartment - rent/buy, etc.

More info? What character of place are you looking for? Single-family? Townhouse? Assisted Living? VA hospital or regular? What kinds of things do you want to be near for your hobbies?

Your question is way too general--a map can tell you what's near the beach and where good hospitals are (Greenville and Wilmington are the largest areas in Eastern NC, but there may be other things about those cities that you don't care for).

What has made you consider NC to begin with? Maybe we can tell you what areas have [the things that make you want to move to NC] about them.

The Wilmington area is great. You will want to stay in the Wilmington or Topsail (north of Wilmington) school districts. You can beat the beaches, lifestyle, and New Hanover Medical is top notch.
