the majority of the hardcore racists were southern Democrats, and when the south was racist and backward back in the day, it voted for FDR, LYndon Johnson big time. SC voted 96 percent for FDR one of his election wins. Liberalism and white racism are not mutually exclusive as modern Democrats claim today.
The party of secession, slavery, segregation, Jim Crow has motivation to label their political opposition today as the racist, bigoted party, it is about covering up the Democrat' party's past.
You'll see Democrats complaining about the Confederate flag (which was created by their party), etc, but they don't ever complain about their own party's name, why not change the name? The party is ok with asking black voters to vote for a party with the same name as the one that was the political wing of the KKK and even opposed anti-lynching laws. Personally, I would want to change the name if I was a Democrat. It could be looked as a dog whistle to white racists that the name hasn't changed.
this is why i cringe when i see Democrats trying to use this silly issue to say GOP is bigoted.

Comparing this to the Civil Rights movement of the 60's is a false analogy.
Extending Title VII and Title IX gender protections to cover gender "identity" would be equivalent to extending racial civil rights protections to Rachel Dolezal because she "identifies" as black. Understand the difference?
I haven't read the entire thread so maybe this has been mentioned. What about all female colleges? Do they now have to admit men that think they're women. Junior League? Girl Scouts? HS and college sports teams? And, of course, vice versa. Must Fraternities admit transgenders with all female parts? How's that going to go?
How about your freshman daughter at UNC that gets assigned a transgender roommate with all male genitialla?

HS and college sports teams? And, of course, vice versa. Must Fraternities admit transgenders with all female parts? How's that going to go?

The wording says that any schools receiving federal money have to admit anyone into any activities, lodging and facilities they choose, regardless of gender. I'm not sure how many all-girl colleges get federal funding, but they could be sued if they don't follow the DOJ "guidelines".

That is what it seems to have come down to. A man can identify as a woman, and white can identify as a black, a European can identify as a Native American Indian, a pedophile can identify as a child, a rapist can identify as a lover, a writer can identify as a medical doctor ... a crazy world.
