In North Carolina, the state House Transportation Committee on Wednesday approved the idea of a plate bearing the "Choose Life" message. More than 300 people would have to request the plate for it to be created.
Some of the proceeds from the additional $25 cost of each plate would go to a special fund to benefit crisis pregnancy centers.
I think just about any special interest group can arrange to have a specialized license tag, if they go through the established procedures to convince the state that there's sufficient interest. About 100 groups have already done so.
Apparently, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected a challenge today from groups attempting to prohibit states from issuing license plates with a pro-life message. This should result in the end of the legal bickering nationwide.
