I think that you can also get the funds direct deposited into your bank account...

yes, you can get funds direct deposited but we have waited over a month and they still haven't processed the form.

that's a bit scary. so, even on unemployment, you have to keep a month's pay on hand...

It took about 2 weeks for my direct deposit form to get processed.

Also, I found that if I hit the website at an odd hour, say, 3 am on Monday morning, I have no problem getting in to file my weekly claim.

Not with me. I got mine fairly quickly after applying. A week I guess, something like that...

If your former employer stays on top of things shouldn't take but a week or 2. Unfortunately it took me about 8-10 weeks from the time I filed online to receive my first dispursement. A form is sent to your former employer requesting confirmation that your employment was terminated, and the employer has 14 days to respond. Then, if they don't (which I was told mine didn't), your benefits request is automatically approved.
