hi, we are thinking of buying a new used hybrid car and wondering if NC offers any tax credits. I found something online from 2005 saying they offer $3,400 to 6,00 per vehicle and $12,000 for trucks. Went on the NC revenue website and found no info, tried to call and only got a recording. I really don't want to call the dealer, yet. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I thought all such car tax credits were at the Federal level, such as the "Cash for clunkers" of which I got to take advantage last summer

I still think a dealer would know better than anyone--I can understand not calling the exact dealer you'll be potentially working with, but call a different dealer to ask the question. They'll certainly tell you if they think it'll get them a sale.

I was only asking this as on consumer reports they mentioned that the state of colorado was giving a $6,000 tax credit for hybrid vehicles. Looks like NC did something in 2005, that was the only thing i could find on the state's tax revenue website. Clash for clunkers is over and my car wouldn't qualify anyway as it gets good gas mileage. Hey, it was worth checking out.
