There are a lot buildings going up. He will find a job, and if he has any snap at all will probably end up being foreman. The city is growing and a lot of young people are moving and looking for a start. Leaders are a little harder to come by.
If you can get rid of pets your ability to rent will be better.
I am from East Texas, raised in south east Texas, lately from Deep East Texas. I would wait until April 1st. By then your winter clothes might be warm enough. I am looking forward to next week when we shouldn't have any mornings below zero.
I haven't noticed any RV parks but I assume they are around. Even if you had to live in the Detroit lakes area and commute for a couple of months that wouldn't be too bad in the spring, (forget winter though) I don't know but I expect a lot of apartments will open up in the downtown area in June as this is a college town and school will be out. In the south and west of the city that will not be so true as they are more of the suburb type areas.
I have found no ghettos here, although I am sure there is at least one low income area, and the huge apartment blocks near the 13th ave Walmart look unappealing to me.
If you can, live in town, Fargo is a nice well kept city. Detroit lake is the closest recreation area to the east in Minnesota, but there are other places I hope to explore.
While there are churches every 50 feet here, the town is not too up tight. It has a very high alcohol consumption per capita. It ends up being a nice place to live filled with friendly people who are not as up tight as Texans.
I don't know anyone in the construction industry here, however my upstairs neighbor is a nurse. If you want to contact me off line, I can pass your resume to her and see if she has any recommendations.
Cheers
