heres the latest scoop. our development had a meeting with the owners of the resort and a potential investor group.

heres the story:

if no new capital comes in from other investors then the bank will foreclose on them after dec 17th.

there is an investor group interested but they want to operate a motorcycle/atv race track there during the non skiing months.

if they dont get the town approval for the non conforming use of the area then they are not interested

the development is against it.

dec 11th is a hearing at town hall over the issue

Still sad every time I read about it somewhere. I think it's a shame for the local businesses and the locals themselves who I know a few who moved to that end of the lake just because of the skiing. Of course the year we decide to teach my son and it's gone. I hope they change their minds.

heres my best guess. i think anyone in the area who may be interested was probley holding back until it was foreclosed on. a ski resort is unlike any other property. its really worthless for building as its a mountain...... maybe they can fit 6 or 7 houses on all of 112 acres. the bank may look to unload it and i think investors or local businessmen may take it off their hands. i think any of the resorts or popular restaurants have a vested interest in seeing it continue. i think today was the dead line for the banks to start foreclosure

It was very thoughtless of the owners to simply take down their website and disconnect their phones. I wonder how many skiers are going to show up this winter to find that it's a ghost town. The least they could have done was left the site up for the winter with a message explaining the situation. My family has a lakehouse on Wallenpaupack and the only reason for heading up there in the winter was because Tanglwood was right there. What a shame.

they were still negotiating with investor groups and the town and may still be doing so. although last i heard the bank gave them until dec 17th before starting foreclosure
