Hello all,

Next weekend I am booking a bachelor weekend for my buddy and one of his top things he wanted to do was do some fishing/boating. Are there any lakes near Pocono pines that allow motorized boats?

We have a 45HP bass boat that we'd like to bring and also a small aluminum boat with trailing motor. I'd have to imagine the small boat won't be much of an issue anywhere but the bigger bass boat I'd like to be sure something is close by.

Our place will be located on Pinecrest Lake (Tamaqua Lake).... any help/insight would be greatly appreciated!

The 2 power boat lakes I know of are Lake Harmony (close to you, but HP restriction, check the restriction on that lake.) The other is the big lake of Wallenpaupack, which has no restrictions but about a 40 minute travel.

Brady's lake is very close to you - but (I believe) you can only operate your boat with it's electric motor. I have not been back there for years. It is a nice lake for eclectic motors. The road to go back to Brady's lake is about half way between Balkeslee and Pocono Pines.

Anybody know what restrictions Beltzville Lake has? I have never fished there - but I think that be fairly close for the OP.

Thanks for the responses guys... many of us are coming from Lehigh Valley/Central NJ and points south so I was trying my best to get something that wasn't all the way up in Wallenpaupack.

However... it makes more sense for us to go up there so I think that's what we're going to do. I'd hate to risk assuming we could use Lake Harmony or somewhere nearby and it doesn't happen.

If a MOD wants they can close this thread! Thanks again!!
