Years ago they showed the NYC skyline from a mountain in Pennsylvania. There are parts of Pike county that are only 40 miles away from NYC and was wondering where this spot might have been?

I'll guess from one of the towers on High Nob which is the highest peak in the county.

At Powder Mill Heights in New Jersey you can barely see the New York Skyline if you have a high apartment facing east. I doubt based on the view I've seen there that you will see anything from Pike County.

As you can see from a google map search it is (41.9 miles) to Manhattan from Powder Mill Heights in Morris Plains, NJ

The closest distance I could get still in Pike County, PA was 75 miles in Dingmans Ferry which is low lying. Maybe a few miles west you will get elevation but see the New York Skyline from 80 miles away? I know someone who lives at Powder Mill with a 100 mile view at the top of the complex and I visit there, you can barely see the Freedom Tower and the rest of the Manhattan Skyline from there at 40 miles.
