Coming down to the poconos to partake of the family reunion. Thinking of making tortelinni (sp?) salad, green salad, fruit salad and cold cuts. Where's the best grocery store to find these items--IGA, wal-mart (not what I would pick) or do I need to drive into Scranton to Schiffs. Any suggestions as to where to buy bulk food would be appreciated. Thanks

Sam's club if you have a membership and there is one close. Not only is it cheaper but you can get the restaurant sized portions for just about everything. A little known "secret" is that many reataurants and other local stores shop at Sam's.

I just made tortollini salad for our last party and it was a hit! I bought bags at Wegmens, they came in 3 pound bags for I think $6.99 each.

Here's a snack receipe I make for gatherings and it makes for a lot of people and pretty sensible in prices.

Guava paste (GOYA brand) 1 can
2 jars of Spanish olives (goya brand) without the pits or pepper.

Queso Blanco (white cheese) - wish I had the picture for this but I couldn't find an image. It is usually next to the ricotta cheese in Walmart. It is a Mexican soft white cheese. I usually buy 2 packages.

Cut the guave paste and queso blanco in small squares. On a toothpick, slid the olive, queso blanco and the guave paste. The snack has the sweet and sour taste... Since the items are at a good price and Great part is that all of the items are found in walmart at a good price.
