Yes, I went out earlier today, but the sun helped take the bite out of the cold.

Later this week is supposed to be arctic...I had a well check scheduled for the baby on Thursday, and I rescheduled for next week. Who wants to bundle a baby up to head out in sub zero temps....I just hope it gets more seasonal (i.e. 30's or so) soon!

So I should appreciate the fact that moving right after Christmas didn't work out and I'm still here in VA, right? lol

The s.o. keeps telling me about snowplows and iceskating down the road. Is it really that bad?!

Depends on what town you're moving to...some are better than others. I'm in Shohola and there are times that I find the township roads are plowed way better than the state roads. Go figure..then again from what I hear I84 is THE priority as opposed to other state roads. Good luck with your move!!!

Yes the road condition will vary from town to town. As a former Scrantonian, I can personally attest to the poor snow removal in the city. I now live in the Midvalley area and the roads are very well salted and plowed. I am very pleased! But with the temps we are in for this week (Thursday has a high of 10)...I don't think salt will be much help if it snows.

VA is certainly a better climate...but PA has its perks too. Best wishes on your move.

Thanks guys. We're moving to the Scranton area. My s.o. lives in Throop right now, but is from Blakely. Thankfully, I'll be moving to the area in either April or June (probably June, as I'd like my daughter to finish out the school year) so I guess I'll be able to get used to the temps gradually going down in fall/winter instead of jumping into it now!

Looks like the end of this week will be a good time to fire up the slow cooker and make a big pot of chili and some cornbread!
