Newswatch 16 is now saying it will be off the eastern coast and wont bother us too much. However- they have been wrong before.

Well if you make that trip to Puxetauney can I help? I don't think I could stand another 6 weeks of this!

OK...I spend too mcuh time on the computer! I admit it!

But all in all WNEP on-line and on TV should be the same...in the case of weather...no news could be scary news.

I have noticed quite often that all of WNEP's weather people give a different forecast. What one forecasts at noon will be completely different from what another forecasts that same evening. It's almost like they are trying to outdo the others in order to be correct.

I agree with the difference in forecasts with Channel 16. I think that Tom and Noreen both have been schooled in the "let's make the people panic and watch" way of forecasting - make it sound really bad so people will keep watching the news to see if (and usually when) the forecast will change.

Joe and Kurt are of the new breed there, just giving the people the info as they see it, without the scare tactics and hype. They'll tell you if they're not sure, if it's too early to say how things will turn out.

Plus, weather can change quickly too. They call it a forecast for a reason - because no one is sure about the weather!!

Kurt is the only one that I really think has a clue. Joe usually misses the mark completely (for our area anyway), and sometimes it seems that the forecast is just something he does in addition to his show that he is putting on.

With all the cold & snow & ice y'all have had so far, if he sees his shadow, I gotta feeling there's gonna be a lynch mob & some woodchuck stew for dinner Monday!!!

I don't mind the snowstorms - I love it (I also rarely have to do anything about it either thanks to my darling hubby...)

I do hate the sloppy rain, sleet, and ice though that makes it so treacherous to even step foot outside.
