Moving into the area, and trying to figure out school logistics....

Do all AM SACC programs start at the same time, regardless of the school's bell schedule? If so, what time does SACC start in the AM?

I know that the PM SACC at some schools have waiting lists that are very long. What are the waiting lists like at Westbriar, Colvin Run, or Great Falls?

Thanks!

7:15 am. It is my understanding that the before school SACC wait lists are short, if they exist at all. Call soon if you want to get on a list as it is a one-year plus summer wait period. (For example, the wait lists for school year 2011-2012 just opened up last week.)

Here is a page that might help with enrollment info. It gives different enrollment times depending on the name of the school.

I would still phone as I know that my neighbor enrolled on Friday morning (6/25) for after-school SACC starting September 2012.

Sure. Can't hurt.
Though, it kinda sucks if someone saw that schedule and waited, then found they couldn't get in because they were enrolling before that.

Thanks for the info.

We lived in Fairfax 2008-2009. Now we live in a different country, but we will move back to FCPS for 2010. It seems that I cannot enroll in SACC unless I have an address? Won't they refuse to enroll me if my kids are not officially enrolled in FCPS yet (last time we rented, and this time we will try to buy, but we don't know exactly what school we will be going to yet). It seems that new students are out of luck because they will end up at the bottom of the list.

We are also out of luck because we won't know neighbors/babysitters/childcare settings until we get there in the summer, which is rather late to be arranging childcare with which we as parents are comfortable. Our work schedules will make it impossible for either me or my husband to get the kids to SACC by 7:15, and I don't know how to find someone willing to take care of my kids in the AM. Frustrating.

Expat123 - are you, by chance, an expat relo'ing home from overseas? We are also overseas right now coming home to NoVa shortly. Although I already own my home in Ffx County, therefore have an address, and have had a child in FCPS, I to am having problems. They make you jump through hoops. If I knew what area you are looking at, I could provide some suggestions on alternatives.

Thankfully the SACC wait lists really move (generally) the summer before school starts. In particular, invoices are sent out in August for September services and lots of folks opt out at that point (since money is then involved ).
