Nope! Even the janitors are paid out of appropriated funds...

I wasn't trying to be secretive about my job. I was "in general terms" pointing out that not all government employees are paid with taxpayer (appropriated) funds. Still_Waiting seemed to then be convinced who I worked for but didn't say. I, personally, wasn't aware that there was only one profession in all of the government that worked non-appropriated funds, but maybe I am incorrect on that.

I do work in the area for foreign military sales and our salaries are charged back directly to the foreign country(ies) that we do work for. I only have a puny Secret clearance. When I was a contractor, it was the same way--paid by the customer, not Uncle Sam. But yes, my funds do funnel through the system and I get a paycheck the same way everyone else does.

I doubt that...maybe background checks at least.

My husband is an electrician for a private company. He works at the Executive Office Building on an remodeling job. His next job will be the west wing. He has a top secret clearance and is now going through more checks prior to the west wing job starting.

So what does the white house have to do with the cia? My response in doubt was regard to the latter.

That janitors working at any agency that has top secret work going on, to include the CIA, may have to get top secret clearances themselves. The White House as well as the Executive Office Building require that of all their workers, even janitors. That's what it has to do with the CIA.

Unless you know for sure, "may" is just speculation.
