"I'm a reglar Google Maps type of person. Unfortunately I noticed that Fairfax is just covered by the main arteries/roads...and the neighborhoods aren't viewable.

Seems like within the beltway, you can view most of all the streets on Google Maps, but not so much at all outside the Beltway."

thats standard google street views practice with USA suburbs, AFAIK, not just in greater DC.

Dont expectold town fairfax to have jumping evening street life. Its coming along, but DW and I were there at about 8:30 the other night (Monday I think) and while there was something going on at the old town hall, the streets were VERY quiet. We had planned on walking around, but went to the library instead.

I worked for a few years across the street from the Court House/jail and the sidewalks roll up at 6:00 for the most part. Parking was always a pain, but perhaps with the new construction/parking at the Courthouse that has improved. A friend of mine lives w/in the city limits across the street from Paul VI HS and it's a neighborhood of 60's ranches that have been added on to and renovated. What I like about it is the large lots and the non cookie cutter feel to the neighborhood. The schools aren't so great and many families take advantage of the local Catholic school and the pricier Flint Hill.
