We have just moved and are looking for a pediatrician; we are in Dunn Loring but can get into Vienna easily. I appreciate all feedback, including who you DON'T recommend! Thanks.

I'm in the Vienna Mom's Club. It seems like nearly all of the members use either Advanced Pediatrics or Capital Care - Vienna Pediatrics. You can't go wrong with either one. Advanced is smaller with fewer doctors. Vienna Pediatrics has more doctors and longer hours, I believe.

Thank you for your feedback. I have found some good reviews on both of those places but also lots of awful ones! esp. regarding the office/business end and also misdiagnoses. Eeek! I would love to hear detailed pros/cons of either of these places and/or other recs so I can continue heading toward a decision. Thanks!

We use Vienna Pediatrics and have had good (not outstanding, but good) experiences with the doctors. One has always called me back the same day when I have called with concerns, even though they weren't urgent.

However, their phone system leaves A LOT to be desired. Only once or twice have I waited on hold for less than 10 minutes to make an appointment or to speak with the advice nurse. Often the wait exceeds 20 minutes. We've lived in several different cities and have never had such trouble getting through to a human at the doctor's office. It's especially annoying as their phone system plays continuous announcements about their office policies, so I can't just put them on speakerphone and do something else (like care for the sick kid) while waiting for someone to pick up.

Can you get into Falls Church? I have heard very good things about Dr. Halprin's practice (can't remember its name). If it were closer to us, that's probably where we would go, but we've had enough last-minute sick kid visits that geographical proximity counts for a lot to me.
