I haven't heard anything on the news about it. Does anyone know what was going on at the King St. Metro station this morning? There were probably at least a dozen-15 armed men (some with dogs), not regular Metro police outside the entrance, just inside the entrance (w/dogs) and standing guard on the platforms..... was a little unnerving as these guys looked serious.

Is it one of those random bag search checkpoints? Thankfully I don't ride the metro on a regular basis.

No, they weren't checking bags at all.

Washington Post reports there was a train malfunction at the King St station around 6 am today, creating Blue and Yellow line delays, and it was cleared by 7 am. Nothing else.

This was about 8:45 am (but the train I was in was scary...horrible creaking, everyone kept looking but we couldn't figure out where it was coming from) - maybe it was just a show of something (seems like resources could be better used though).

thanks all for the responses.

I don't work in DC so I'm not reliant on public transportation to get to/from work.
