Wow - that takes all the fun out of the pre-Buffet party!

Yes. They've been "tailgaiting) since they were about 17. Just enjoy hanging out with their friends. Since they can't do that they don't want to go.

I'd rather have the partying/drinking concentrated to the event parking lot rather than at one of the shopping centers or bars in the area. There's also a lot of nice families living in that immediate area such as myself who would prefer the drunks stay away from us. So, I don't believe and don't think there should be a crackdown on tailgating. Please be responsible.

What's the point of the crackdown since alcohol is sold at the concert anyway?

i wont bother going to buffett then - the whole experience is the tailgating in the parking lot. i have a feeling if people show up early morning prepared to tailgate and are not allowed they will leave - they won't stay hours for the show. sorry the concert itself is not enough. jiffy lube will lose out on all the consessions, the tickets will be bought but people won't stay. i bet jimmy never comes back again either.

They don't want alcohol consumed outside the gates. Once you go in the gates, you are in. In the parking lot (tailgate) are, you are consuming your own alcohol. Often in excess.

Of all the concerts I've been to, Jiffy Lube definitely has the most inebriated concert goers due to the outside drinking.

Well, my cousin's son is going to WMZQ this weekend so I'll try to get a report for Monday morning.

To the person who asked if I would check with old friends at the PD to confirm this story I say sorry. I don't want anyone coming back and blaming me if something opposite happens to whatever I report. I would just assume this report is true and not tailgate/drink in the lot.

It seems to me this is more about Jiffy Lube trying to maximize revenue from their alcohol sales then about safety. I've never been there, but my understanding is they charge a lot for alcohol. There's still plenty of time during the concert for folks who over-indulge in alcohol and then drive to get drunk.
