I need to make some repairs to my house before putting it on the market, so I might not be ready until mid July - is that too late for the NoVA selling season?

Also, can anyone recommend a link to a site that talks about local housing market trends for this year?

Thanks

If you can get your home on the market by July and it is priced competitive with the market than you will be ok. Of course it will also depend on the competing inventory. Will it be a regular sale? If so that is to your benefit.

Here is a link to area statistics: Real Estate Market Statistics for the Mid-Atlantic Region | RBI You can search by county or zip code and find out some of the information that you are looking for.

You might be interested in this site. The posts tend to be made by people who are hoping, and therefore often predicting, that housing prices will come down, but there are good links and references to local market data.

I contend there are two seasons Real Estate and Football. As long as you get your house sold before football starts you are good - if not take it off the market until after the Superbowl.

In a related question, does that mean this is the worst time to get home repairs done (since all the sellers will pay top dollar)?

It has? Homes in my area have been selling fairly fast.

News Headlines Selling fast, and selling fast at 2003 prices are entirely different things.

Were you responding to Normie with that link? It did not tell NOVA specific info. It was stating more US in general and NOVA has not really been following the trend of the the rest of the country so far.
