@OP_It can be a little discouraging, but this is the cyberhood and most of us will never meet, so that say's a little something about the neccessity in communocation being subjective.

Are you not a real person? Am I not a real person?

Much worse to me is, “thank you very much, great information” but no points. What’s up with that.

Ist it possible they have already "rep'ed" you on another post/topic? I know there are lots of times I'd like to add reputation to someone, but it tells me I have to spread more around before giving it to that person again...

That's true (points for you).

You're one person whose absence would be noticed by the regulars, Bigfoot !

I feel so bad. I've asked many questions and have gotten wonderful responses but just figured out in the last week or two what the rep points are and how to give them. Its not hard, I just never paid much attention to what they are. I profusely apologize to those I have slighted. I will be sure to do my city-data duty from now on.

People here are so nice and helpful. I hate for people to think they weren't appreciated!

I've found that to be true; it might be an interesting topic with great potential (as if ) but does get cut short if the OP responds too soon without any follow-up questions.

But when someone initiates a major discussion and doesn't come back to tell us whether they accepted the job or moved to whichever area, that does seem rather lacking.

The ones that tickle me...they ask a question, or for an opinion...and then they want to argue!

Sheesh, if you already know the answer, or have already formed a firm opinion. WHY ASK?

Most people are honest here, even if what they say isn't what one wants to hear.

Rep points aren't the reason to respond or not, just try to help if you can.
