instead of just list as many banks as possible, here are some recommendations:

If you want big bank, go with Wells Fargo. They are solid. Bank of America is in trouble and they are closing branches, sick with Countrywide loans and Buffett's bread sticks. Citibank is too international focused, more international risk and just too big of a financial institution with so many silos and not enough focus on banking. Capital One is totally fee based, so be ready to have tons of fees for everything you do there. BB&T is okay, very conservative, but their customer service sucks IMO.

If you want a smaller bank, go with United Bank. Very conservative, and they've been paying out a steady dividend for 30+ years. Organic growth. They've got a dual headquarters with WV and DC. M&T sucks. Cardinal is too small, and all the others small ones - I have never met a single person who banks with them.

If you want a credit union, Navy Federal Credit Union. They are by far the best out there, and the biggest too. You might have trouble becoming a member though, need to be military or family of military.

I use Middleburg Bank... no complaints at all, granted I only have a basic checking and savings account with them, nothing fancy
