Looking to do a last minute holiday weekend getaway with the family (wife and 3 younf kids). Anyone have ideas where I can go. Most log cabins in the mountains seem to be taken. Willing to drive up to 4, max 5 hours to get there. Thanks.

I guess it depends on what you want to do. Williamsburg has some great stuff: Bed and Breakfasts, Great Wolf Lodge, Busch Gardens.

Lake Anna is also pretty close.

Deep Creek Lake in Maryland is wonderful this time of year.

We're going camping down at Peaks of Otter. I know they have a few camp sites left, and there is a lodge as well, but I don't know about their availability.

What's your budget?
There is the Greenbriar, Hampstead, Berkeley Springs (WV), Bedford Springs (PA).
More affordable: Wintergreen.
If you like little towns along Skyline Drive / western Virginia, there is Frederick, Lynchburg, Lexington, all with wineries and parks along the route.

Have fun!

Try Snowshoe or Canaan Valley in WV. There are a lot of lodging!
