When I switched to Fios, caller ID was added to my phone service. And although call alerts pop up on the tv that has the DVR (cuz it needs a phone line) and sometimes distracts me from the show I'm watching, I've never been so happy to have it!

We had a similar calls awhile back. I finally told them the house was in foreclosure, I hadn't paid my gas or electric bill in 6 months. It worked. I also use that for the guys that ring my doorbell wanting to repair something or another.

We also had someone call from another company, whose account was in my husbands name - which is definitely a guys name. Asked if I was XXX, (mind you I have a soft pitched voice, never been mistaken for a guy) I said I was and dragged them along for bit. Asked what country they were calling from..they hung up.

I hope the emergency is over, since it was happening in October 2011.
