What does a commute from South Riding to Leesburg look like during prime commute times?

I'm always used to heading east, but now need to know which routes would offer the easiest commute to Leesburg? How much time would this take at 8am for example?

(I know, I know- another commute question... but I appreciate your answers.)

Thanks!

Where in Leesburg? I work @ the Airport and folks have taken Evergreen Mill into town. From there you can take Shreve Mill, Battlefield, or King to wherever you need to go

Yep - 606-Evergreen Mills is probably your most direct route. With the caveat that it is only two lanes, and you'll have to pass several elementary schools and a high school, so you may hit school zone slowdowns and lots of buses - plus you'll pass the county landfill, so there are a lot of heavy trucks on the road. Sorry, I don't know how long it might take, since I usually only drive it mid-morning.

An alternate would be to take 606-Belmont Ridge-Sycolin.

I stay on braddock road so most of the times I just take braddock road all the way to Rt 15 N towards Leesburg, it is way faster and takes anywhere between 20 - 30 mins give 'n take 5. Best thing is no signals no school zones.

Ok, thanks... Thinking 50 West to 15 N might be quick into downtown Leesburg too...
So I should allow for about 30 minutes commute?

Just a warning for people who don't know. Braddock road isn't paved all the way to Rt 15.
