He promptly removed it, sold it on Craiglist, and had the hole filled in with dirt.
LOL! I wouldn't feel comfortable with a hot tub next to my front door, but in an odd way I could enjoy relaxing while watching the never-ending stream of cars on 395. It's sort of mesmerizing, maybe even zen (the cars are endlessly flowing, and in some ways the roar of steady traffic sounds like the ocean). Plus, you get the pleasure of saying "ha ha ha, you're all stuck on 395 while I'm in a hot tub !"

Not that I plan on getting one, but I wonder if the HOA would even approve one in our neighborhood...

I was just at a party last Saturday where they had a hot tub. It was dark so I didn't look at the yard but they had a fairly small yard in Clarendon. I didn't jump in. Too cold and windy. Some people love doing the hot tub in the winter I guess I'm not one of them.

Yes if you let everyone on the HOA board come over and use it. LOL I don't see anywhere in our HOA rules that we can't have hot tubs, but you know how solid our HOA rules are...

I had one at our house in Herndon for about 10 years. And I have one now in the current house. There's nothing better than relaxing outside in the middle of winter late at night. Mine have been pretty easy to maintain. My youngest son is probably in it 4 nights out of the week, and I use it two or three times a week thru the late fall, winter and early spring. Once the temps warm up, it isn't quite as relaxing to me. No wild parties though. I'd say that's because I'm old and married ..... but unfortunately I can't remember many wild parties when I was young and single ....

My DH wants one and those are the reasons why I say "No.".

Plus we would most likely need to have the back patio reinforced to hold the weight.

I would guess that since people rarely have the space for a pool around here, a hot tub is a nice concession prize.
