We live in Leesburg and I love it. We choose it over Ashburn because it has a REAL downtown. It has resturants and quaint shopes and a beautiful old court house where they have concerts on the weekends in summer.

The town has ALOT of offer and IDA Lee rec center is just getting bigger and better every year. 4 new indoor door tennis courts will be completed in NOV. (the only Ashurn had over Leesburg) and Also a big new outdoor swim facility will be completed in 2009.

There are some GEORGOUS old historic homes etc....
There are new "plannned" communities all over.... like the ones I mentioned above. RedRocks neighborhood is beautiful and so is Potomac Crossing (some houses have views of the Potomac) Landsdowne is in Leesburg and is a very upscale, exclusive community.

The schools are great and the people are very friendly.... It's a town and has a "town feel"

As for shopping... you have the outlet mall, Target, Khols, Costco, Best buy etc.... AND...WEGMAN's is comming this spring!

I liked Ashburn...but it just felt to "stepfordville" for me.
