Herndon/Reston is probably your best option. You could probably do Nokesville, and get a bigger place, but I agree with the above, The Pentagon from the VRE is "Pain in the neckish". Another Commuting option would be something close to Belvoir and taking one of the many buses offere by the base. Direct to the Pentagon. In that case, you would be off of I-95 and have a much quicker return to NC if that is important. Family friendly is sort of thrown around too much. there is so much to do around here that being close to a park, or trail is irrelevant. You will be going to DC, Shenandoah, VA Beach, the Oqqoquan et al. Every school in Fairfax, Loudoun or Prince William is better than anything FL had to offer, Trust me I would know.

Well, it we are officially moving somewhere in NOVA! Schools are not an issue, yet. He is only 20 months old. What is important now is finding a decent place with a commute that tops out at around 60-70 minutes.

Does anyone know or can recommend a realtor or property manager that works with renters (one who will probably buy after a year)?

Again a 3/2+ with yard or yard space and allows dogs (chocolate lab).

Thanks for everyone's posts and help!!!
