my vague sense is that the hispanic pop of annandale has been stable over the last four years or so. Maybe a few more in the condos off heritage, and maybe a few less in the apt complexes along LRT (where I think there are a few more african immigrants who have moved from landmark, and some middle easterners, though I guess most middle easterners in Annandale who dont live in houses live in the older hirises) This impression is not based on census data though.

I based it on census data for 2000 and 2010; perceptions of the increasing number of Hispanic residents whom I see walking on Routes 236 and 244; and the increasing enrollment of Hispanic students in Annandale-area elementary schools. As to the latter, the number of Hispanic students at Annandale Terrace ES went from 278 to 517 over the past five years; the number at Braddock increased from 217 to 391; and the number at Columbia ES increased from 59 to 135.

the increase from 2000 to 2010 makes sense. Im thinking though that the increase at least slowed down, and maybe came to a halt sometime around 2008.

I dont particularly notice an increase in hispanic peds since 2008. In fact I probably notice more an increase in black and mideastern peds since then.

Schools could represent an increase (including possible more people per unit in some of the apt complexes) OR it could represent a birth cohort reaching school age (I suppose close analysis of the age distribution in the 2010 census data could test that)

I think that was you that posted a website once that had current information on all schools - all types of demographics, etc.

What was the name of that website? Might be interesting to view again.
