I am hoping all these people with jobs who voted for Obama post a pix of their reaction when they get their tax bill in April. Especially Contractors with no insurance. Please make sure to wear an Obama Change shirt.

Bush tax cuts expiring for everyone : Between 2-5K extra Fed income taxes for everyone
Obamacare tax: 150 or 1% of your Gross income if you do not have health insurance
Capital Gains tax increases from 15% to 20%

I have no problem with it as long as it's applied across the board. It'll all get rolled into wages and prices over time. However, I doubt it will happen. I'd rather Obama goes into it from a position of strength.

BHO has suggested extending the cuts for all income below 250k (note well - not just for taxpayers below 250k - folks with incomes above 250k would still get lower rates on their first 250k of income) If the entire bush cuts are allowed to expire because a deal cannot be reached, its very likely that the admin will then propose cuts on income below 250k. Whether the House will pass those, absent a cut in the top bracket rates, is yet to be seen.

I'd vote for kicking the can down the road. The economy's too fragile to mess around with stuff like this. Better to wait until things heat back up, which is when you should raise taxes.

If Bolling loses, you'll have to sign a statement saying you'll vote straight ticket R no matter who wins.

OTOH if you think Cuccinelli will lose by a big enough margin that your vote won't matter -- packing the convention for Bolling might be an acceptable alternative.

And if the Commonwealth of Virginia and its counties are paying for a primary election, anyone should be able to vote in it, or the General Assembly should introduce bills to introduce by-party registration.

Can you provide the section of the RPV bylaws stating that? If such a requirement did exist wouldn't it make more sense that I'd be bound if Bollling won? Why would you bind someone to a candidate they didn't vote for at the convention?

A little behind on reading my Sunday Washington Post, I noticed today on the first page of the Metro (C) section that there was a graphic showing to what degree the region voted for Obama or Romney. Regarding Fairfax County, support for Obama was fairly strong with the exception of its northern edge (Great Falls, McLean) and its southwestern edge (Burke, Fairfax Station, Centreville).

It's a bit more nuanced. More than half of the precincts in McLean went for Obama. Some north of 123 near Great Falls went for Romney. If you know the high school areas, the areas assigned to Langley HS were mostly Romney territory, while the areas assigned to McLean HS went in Obama's favor.

Part of Centreville went for Romney, but other precincts in Centreville went for Obama. Most of Burke went for Obama. Looks like all of the Great Falls precincts and most if not all of the Fairfax Station precincts went for Romney.
