I will make sure we look for the yard signs.

We will be there by the 1st week in August to enroll our 4 year old in Lane Elementary School.

Thanks for the well wishes.

I highly recommend The Village Thrift in the shopping center where Lowe's is in Potomac Mills. Sunday and Monday are their sale days.

This site is currently showing the last spring consignment sales, but it will probably be updated soon with the fall sales. Most places have fall and spring sales, so you can look at the list and find out which are near you. For those near Christ Church in Fairfax Station, I highly recommend their sale.

I like this $7 VIP option to avoid the crowds.

Thanks for the info. Well add this to the list of shops.

Unique and Value Village are the same company.
Unique fluctuates the 25% days thought the week, thru the year.
I buy and sell thru Craigslist. I make more money/buy stuff cheaper and I can rendezvous buyers in safe areas (I met someone in front of the FireHouse!)
I dump unsellable items at Unique.

There are many many different immigrants at Unique. There was a girl who was killed in the Parking lot. In my opinion, no one came forward to authorities with information and clues (its a super busy place) as their Visa/immigration status is iffy.
The guy was finally found thru DNA

Keep you kids near you at these stores-there've been at least 2 child assaults at Value

The Unique had an armed robbery 3 years ago (yes 5+ people during the day guns blazing)

I'll make sure I put my boss on a leash when I visit this place. Thanks for the heads up.

I would not waste my time with B thrifty in Woodbridge. :-( UGH

The Salvation Army across the street is better. You should do a search online and map everything out before you get here. There is a small thrift store at the Kmart shopping center in Springfield and there are also several other small consignment shops around there that are sometimes worth it.

Large Salvation Army on Rte 236 at the edge of Alexandria & Annandale - alwasy found good things there, and there is another Salvation army in Arlington off of Rt 50/Glebe Rd.

Unique thrift is the biggest and best. Also pick up a VIP card for special discount dates emailed to you. I've been going there for years. They have brand names, and some off brands. Average price for a thrift store. It gets busy on the weekends.
