I will be taking a train out of Union Station next week and because my train will be departing early in the morning and my return train will be arriving around 5 pm, I thought the easiest way to get to and from the station might be VRE (I live close to the Broad Run station on the Manassas line).

It is an overnight trip, but from what I understand the VRE can get crowded, so I'm thinking it would not be appropriate for me to bring even a small "carry on" size suitcase, right? What about a backpack (not a huge hiking type--just something about the size an average high school kid would carry each day) , would that be ok?

Also, has anyone ever parked overnight at a VRE Station? There isn't much info about it on the VRE website except to say that it is at your own risk.

Anything else I should know?

Thanks!

Good to know! I was worried it would be inconsiderate to the other passengers. Thanks!

We've parked overnight at the Rolling Road VRE station a few times. Car was there the next day each time It's allowable, but obviously VRE doesn't warrant anything about leaving your car there overnight.
