About Mapleshade -it used to be 2 doctors, now it's just one. I like that they are open to alternative treatment options, the doctor listens to my concerns and explains options. She is very gentle with my (large) dog and everybody working there is calm, friendly and seems to like being around animals. I have been to veterinarians where that is definitely not the case. Their prices seem reasonable and they try their best to squeeze you in if you need to be seen. They also get back to me if I have questions over the phone or email.
Also, I have seen them handle a euthanization - that alone will make me go back there!

I take my dogs to Riverview Oaks Veterinary Clinic on Neabsco Mills Rd. They are very good with the dogs and give a 10% discount for vets.

I don't think I have ever seen that place, maybe I have, but it doesn't ring a bell.

It looks like a kennel. When you get past NVCC, it's on the right, before you get to the auto body shops. I didn't realize there was a vet in there.

I went to a vet once that was off of Rt. 1 near Dumfries. It was in the same shopping center where there was a Giant Food (which vacated a few years ago). I took my dog there for a spay as the vet was offering a discount to shelter dogs. This vet left a sponge inside my dog and I had to follow up with a very expensive treatment and further surgery (at a different vet to fix it). This particular vet owned that kennel of Neabsco Mills Road so I never considered using them after that experience. I wonder if that relationship is still the same.

We really liked Woodbridge Animal Hospital on Caton Hill Road in Lake Ridge. They have a 24-hr. Emergency care clinic open, too. They did wonders for my kitty boy when he had a urinary blockage.

they are another good one. I use them and Mapleshade, but the one on Caton Hill has better 24 hour coverage. They also fixed one of my cats with a urinary blockage

I'll second Woodbridge Animal Hospital. We started using them a few months ago and have been very satisfied with their practice.

I may take a peek at Woodbridge Animal Hospital. They did win awards, and while I know it may sound weird, one of their vets is holding a cat in her picture on their website.

To me, that says a good thing about her...
