At my apt parking lot, I got a parking ticket for no valid decal, which was $50.
The thing is that at the end of 2013, I noticed that my decal was about to expire, so I called Arlington to send me new one for 2014. Unfortunately, the day I got the parking ticket, I received the decal a few hours later.
I'm thinking to go to the court, but the system said that if I'm found guilty, not only I need to pay for my ticket, but also pay $61 court fee....
Any advice here? Do you think they will dismiss my ticket at the court since I paid my decal and was waiting for it?

It will likely get dismissed if you have the receipt showing you paid the tax and were just waiting for the sticker to come in. Bring a picture of the new decal on your windshield. However, it will depend on how tightwad the judge is that day about physically "displaying" the decal as technically you were not displaying a valid tag at the time your car was ticketed.

Given that is more like a parking ticket and there are no points I would personally pay it and move on, but if you want to fight it based on principal go ahead.

I would call the number and explain the same thing. They may ask you to come down and show them but this would be easier than court. Not saying this will fix things but it beats going to court.
