I need to park for more than 24 hours and use the Franconia/Springfield Metro station on Monday morning. I hear there are parking spots on the first level that are for multi-day use and cost the same...but they're on a first-come, first-served basis. Does anyone know how fast those fill up? I usually arrive at the garage around 6:30 a.m. I don't mind parking at Macy's and walking, but the garage would be ideal. Any hints?

There are only ten of those spots. Guessing they fill up fast. Better plan over by the mall.

I have no idea, but I have wondered about this before. Not sure I'd personally want to leave my car overnight in the Macy's garage either. You could also park at the Saratoga Park and Ride and take the 333 Fairfax Connector Bus (Route 333: Patriot Ridge - Saratoga Circulator*- Fairfax County, Virginia) to the metro station - according to the Fairfax County FAQs (Park and Ride Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)*- Fairfax County, Virginia) you are allowed to park overnight, but they do ask you to call the VDOT customer service line (which I'm pretty sure is a 24 hour line). I'd personally feel more comfortable with my car being out in the open surrounded by busy roads than in a garage where no one can see it.

Thank you, everyone! I'm going to check the Metro garage for those spaces, and then I'll use Macy's garage if I need to.

It's been a few years since I looked into this, but there used to be spaces marked for multiday parking in the rows farthest from the elevators (i.e., opposite side of the garage). Not sure if they were on every floor. You might find info on the metro website.

I was wrong, there are 15 overnight spaces. Did quick google search with "metro, parking, overnight, springfield". First link has all the info:
Metro - Rail - Parking - Daily Parking

People park overnight in VRE/Metro parking lots/garages all the time. You should be fine as long as you don't leave it for weeks.

With the multi-day spaces at the Franconia metro, do they fill up quick? I'm sure on a Friday but what about a Thursday?
