Are you sure? Interest on my student loan is not that high, and return on investment, whether it's stocks or housing, can easily exceed the student loan interest.

Nothing is wrong with them, but would you want to live right next to one? The poster I think was referring to situations where a ton of people are living in one house, which happens a lot in certain areas. May not be an issue with this place, since there's an HOA. But I agree with his sentiment that you get what you pay for around here.

Maybe if the housing prices go up, it's better to invest in one now than use the money to pay off student loans with low interest rates.

Yes, that could be. Or not. It's all based on your specific situation, your financial goals, and your tolerance for risk in the real estate world. This is all something that should be discussed with a financial planner (preferred), knowledgeable friends or family, or other experts.

Continuing to ask random internet strangers about your specific situation will not benefit you at all, I promise.

According to news, housing it cooling down a lot compare to 2013.

The volume may be "cooling" , but the prices will continue to rise in this area.
