Hi,

I am moving to Alexandria the end of month and am looking for a new vet for my two pugs.

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

I cannot say enough good things about Hometown Vet Clinic on Franconia Rd in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County. It is a small vet clinic and they don't have some super modern, big clinic, but both my wife and myself agree that we have never had vets that seemed as caring and compassionate as Drs. Smith, Walton, and Brook (although Dr. Brook is no longer there on a permanent basis).

I think it might depend on where in Alexandria you are moving... (and do you mean the town or the part of Fairfax County called Alexandria).

I can't help you since I don't live there, but one thing I did when I moved to my new neighborhood is talk to other people walking dogs and asked them where they went. That's how I found my current vet (and one close by--which is great when a dog is sick).

Good luck with the move and welcome to the area!

Thanks for your suggestions.
I will be moving to Del Ray, so I guess it would be nice to find someone close to that area.

avoid banfield at all costs........ vets are like people doctors. The more people become patients the less likely you'll be able to book an appt and given this overpopulated area that happens a lot!

We use Columbia Pike Animal Hospital in Annandale. They are great with my two chihuahuas and MinPin.

Hybla Valley Vet would be a 20 minute ride, maybe 30 on a bad day (depends how well you know the roads). They are good.
